Problem / Solution

In addition to the SSRS Execution Log that many SSRS developers and administrators are familiar with, SSRS includes both Trace Logs and SSRS specific Performance Monitor (PerfMon) counters.  SSRS administrators can review the SSRS trace log which contains a wealth of information including exceptions that were generated, background processing review, and logs of operations completed by the Report Manager and web service, and they can also review the SSRS http trace log which provides details about the SSRS web service's receipt of requests and its subsequent response to those requests.

PerfMon is another tool to keep your SSRS server running at its peak. PerfMon provides a method for recording and displaying twenty-one different counters which can help you determine what has been and is now occurring on your server. The counter list includes recording the number of login attempts, successful logins, SSRS website errors, and number of executing, rejected, disconnected, and total requests.
