Problem
I want to pass the Microsoft exam AZ-101 related to Azure. Can you let me know if you have any tips or study materials to help pass this exam?
Solution
In this tip we will give you links you can use to study and prepare for this test.
What is Azure?
It is a Microsoft Cloud computing service. It includes thousands of services like web pages, virtual machines (in Linux, Windows and more), databases in the cloud, applications, IA and more.
Who should take this exam?
This exam is oriented to Azure Administrators in charge of security, networking, load balancing, virtual networking and the migration of on-premises servers to Azure.
I am a SQL Server DBA. Is this exam for me?
If your company is big you may have an Azure Administrator and you may need this exam to coordinate and help to migrate your SQL Server on-premises to Azure SQL or to an Azure Virtual Machine (VM). Also, this exam will help you handle the security of your machines and databases, because you will learn about multi-factor authentication (MFA) and Manage Role Based Access Control (RBAC). The MFA is used in Azure SQL, so you may need to understand the security terms. If your company is small and you are in charge of Azure because you are the Azure administrator and the DBA, this exam is a must.
In other words, if you are a DBA, this exam is NOT A MUST, but it is something recommended if you will migrate to Azure or you are working or planning to migrate to Azure. If you are in charge of Azure, this exam is a must.
Is the exam difficult?
Not so much. The AZ certification series are simpler than previous versions of Azure Exams (70-53x series, which was a nightmare and you needed to be Ironman+Hulk+Thor to pass). If you do not have any experience in Azure, yes, you will need to study a lot, but it is possible to pass.
